With Karan Johar’s latest tweet of his biopic venture, its not so hard to believe that biopic fever is rising in the industry. Karan tweeted, “My friends Pooja...Aarti Shetty and I are honoured and proud to have the rights to tell the story of the legendary sportsman #DHYANCHAND...” The lead of the film is yet to be decided.
Here we are with the list of personalities on whom the biopics will be made sooner or later.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni:
With this poster coming out it is confirmed that next year we will see a biopic on M.S.Dhoni and Sushant Singh Rajput will be the lead.
Narendra Modi:
Paresh Rawal will play Narendra Modi very soon. The film will be called NaMo and will be directed by Rupesh Paul. The director says that the movie will be more of an inspiration than a biopic. It will be definitely interesting to see Paresh Rawal play our Prime Minister.
Charles Sobhraj:
Randeep Hooda will be a part of this trilling venture. Director Amod Kants movie on Charles will be called, Main aur Charles. The film will revolve around the infamous escape of Sobhraj from Tihar jail.
Som Bahadur Pun:
Som Bahadur Pun has been a Kargil war hero, learnt boxing at the age of 10 and also won a silver medal at common wealth games (2002). Amit Sadh will play the lead in the biopic and Shubhendu Bhattacharya will debut as a director. The movie will be called The Champ.
Amrita Pritam:
Bombay Talkies director Ashi Dua is planning to make a biopic on the popular poet and writer Amrita Pritam. It is speculated that Sonakshi Sinha will play the lead.
Sarbjit Singh:
Filmmaker Subhash Ghai is planning to make a film on Indian Prisoner Sarbjit Singh who was in Pakistan jail for 22 years and died in Lahore jail last year by fellow inmates attack. The star cast for the same is not yet finalised.
Kishore Kumar:
Ranbir Kapoor is most likely to play Kishore Kumar. Although this biopic is delayed a little, soon after Jagga Jasoos Ranbir would start working on it.
With Mary Kom, Bhaagh Milkha Bhaagh, Paan Singh Tomar and many more movies getting positive response by viewers and critics we are sure this biopic trend is here to stay for a while.
